Who We Are



Lauren Urband is a results-oriented strategic communications and marketing professional with more than 15 years of industry experience. As a veteran of some of the most highly regarded PR firms in New York and Los Angeles, Lauren has worked with global brands and start-ups across luxury and mass-market categories, including home and design, contemporary and designer fashion and accessories, travel and hospitality, beauty, tech, publishing, consumer products and personalities. 

While in New York, Lauren began her career in public relations at LaForce + Stevens and Magrino, where she honed her skills and learned the trade from the inside out. She then moved to Los Angeles and worked in-house as Director of Public Relations and Marketing for legendary interior designer and tastemaker, Kelly Wearstler. The position merged her experience in communications with her passion for interiors, home furnishings, fashion and the luxury lifestyle market. 

At Kelly Wearstler, Inc., Lauren independently handled all press, publicity and marketing efforts for the designer’s residential and commercial projects and extensive product collections. Additionally, she was credited as a Producer of the designer’s third book, HUE. Lauren secured cover and feature stories in domestic and international publications, including Architectural Digest; Departures; ELLE; ELLE Décor; Harper’s BAZAAR; House Beautiful; InStyle; T, the New York Times Magazine; The New Yorker; The New York Times; Town & Country; Robb Report; Travel + Leisure; Vanity Fair; Vogue; W; Wallpaper*; The Wall Street Journal and World of Interiors

Lauren then returned to her agency roots, leading the West Coast PR division of Starworks Group and serving as Vice President at HL Group. As a testament to her steadfast relationships with her clients, she has effectively continued to work with multiple brands, including Ms. Wearstler, across agencies. Ultimately, Lauren’s entrepreneurial spirit prevailed, and she launched THE CONSULTANCY PR in 2015.
